  BUILDING UBUNTU BY GIVING BACK

Ambassadors for Change has partnered with the KZN provincial government, the SABC,
the Pietermaritzburg Chamber of Business and the Umgungundlovu District Municipality
to assist victims of the recent summer storms through a campaign to solicit donations for
those affected. 3,010 families in rural areas were affected by damage to, or the loss of their
homes, with the total cost of the damage amounting to R75 million.

Responding to the call to raise funds and assist these communities, television and music
stars showed their “spirit of Ubuntu in action” by donning overalls and boots to build houses and raise funds. KZN Premier S’bu Ndebele commended them, saying, “Whatever you give will make a difference.” The founder of Ambassadors for Change, S’thandiwe Kgoroge, wants to “do as much as possible for the helpless families who lost their loved ones and belonging during the recent storms disaster.”
